Silvano Lodi was born in Munich in 1958.
Since he was a child, he followed his father who had an art gallery in the center of Munich, near the Alte Pinakotek Museum.
Towards the end of the 60’s, the family moved to Lugano and then indefinitely to Campione d’Italia.
He completed his studies in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. After high school he travelled to the USA, where he embarked on “Princess Cruises”, which was based in Los Angeles and worked as a buffet boy for 2 years.
On board he grew fond of photography and began keeping track of his voyage through notes and pictures.
He obtained a degree in photography at Lugano. At the beginning of the 80’s he travelled China for three months which opened his mind to a an entirely new world.

He then moved to London and after a year long internship he began working independently in the field of photography applied to art.
Towards the mid-80’s he moved to Milan and worked in the cultural center of Bellora – previously known as Studio Sant’Andrea- where he contributed in organizing exhibitions and fairs to promote the artists whose art was featured in the gallery.

As soon as he had the opportunity he started following his father, who was a well-known art collectionist and art merchant, in his journeys to Montecarlo, London, New York in the search of singular pieces of art.
With much experience, in 1991 he founded the Galleria Silvano Lodi Jr. and participated in a considerable number of national and international exhibitions and fairs contributing greatly to ancient, modern and contemporary art.
In 1995 he was invited to exhibit at the prestigious TEFAF in Maastricht, one of the most important art exhibitions in the field.
It was the first Italian gallery to participate.

Several years later, an exhibition of his photos shot in China was held in Rome and titled “CINA 1981” with the help of Walter Guadagnini, who was a well known photography critic.
Several projects opened new horizons, with his return to Lugano and the opening of the Silvano Lodi Gallery, and ArtPoint will hold the artwork that characterized his long career.
Likewise his father, many art pieces linked to the history of the Silvano Lodi Gallery are stored in the most famous public and private collections in the world.
