Paolo Porpora | Naples 1617 – 1660
Italian painter belonging to the Neapolitan baroque period. His painting preferred still lifes, mainly depicting objects that had to do with everyday life, food, flowers, animals and kitchen things. At the San Luca Academy of Naples he came in contact with painters from northern Europe. I begin to paint natural environments, such as woods and undergrowth, full of mystery executed in an exemplary way.
